Minnesota Farmers Union report released

The Dayton Administration joined the Farmers Union this week in releasing a “Rural Voices Discussion” report to the public. The report is a call to action for legislators to address the needs of rural communities in the areas of health care, infrastructure, broadband access, and agricultural issues. Some of the priorities outlined in the report include:

  • A MinnesotaCare buy-in option to reduce the cost of health insurance
  • Supporting funding for grants to increase access to high-speed internet in rural areas
  • Regulatory certainty
  • An open dialogue and respectful communication
  • The need to support programs that address hunger

The Rural Voices Discussions report calls on the policymakers to work with farmers and rural families across the state to ensure that they have input on issues and proposals impacting rural Minnesota.
