The One Minnesota conference is an annual tradition at the Minnesota Legislature. It allows senators from both sides of the aisle to work together on issues to move our state forward. Legislators gather to hear from speakers and spend the day getting to know each other in a spirit of bipartisanship. This year, legislators heard from the state economist, panels on health care reform, opportunities and challenges Minnesota businesses face, and building trust through civil discourse. The session closed with House and Senate leadership making statements about the upcoming legislative session. With the annual success of the One Minnesota conference, it’s clear that one of the many things that makes this state work so well is legislators’ ability to work alongside each other despite differences in party affiliation or opinion.
