Online Lottery Sales Ban

Two Gambling Prohibition/Charitable Gambling bills that would prohibit online, gas station pump, and ATM lottery sales are moving through the legislature. Supporters argue that gambling shouldn’t be so convenient and say the Lottery has expanded without legislative approval. Opponents argue the revenue online gaming brings in helps the state, and it would cost the state money to ban the sales. Gov. Dayton has threatened to veto the legislation.

STATUS: The bill is on the Senate Floor. (S.F. 188/S.F. 229)
