Pregnancy Accommodation Bill heard

Testifiers and legislators alike shared stories of having to make difficult decisions at their workplace because of their pregnancy. To remedy some of these problems, a bill was heard in the Labor and Industry Policy Committee that would prohibit an employer from requiring someone who is pregnant from having to decide between feeding their child or earning a wage. Additionally, this proposal provides important protections at the workplace during a pregnancy which would protect the worker and their unborn child.

The bill was referred to the Jobs and Economic Growth Finance and Policy Committee. (SF 1180)
