Once again our part of the state has witnessed a tremendous rainfall and storm event that has resulted is significant flooding and damage to property. City and county officials are still in the early hours of assessing the impact on our neighbors and businesses and I remain in contact with them. While initial reports say that the flooding is not as serve as what was experienced in 2012, that is no consolation to those who are affected by this most recent storm.
I urge residents affected by this storm to contact The Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Consumer Services Center (CSC). They are available to help consumers with questions, concerns, or complaints following a damaging storm, flood, or tornado. The CSC helps consumers understand their rights, work with their insurer to settle a claim, and help Minnesotans make informed insurance decisions after a flood or storm damages their home, auto, or property.
The CSC can be reached by phone at (651) 539-1600 or (800) 657-3602 (Greater Minnesota) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
