Rochester DFL Delegation Responds to Latest Killing of Minnesota Residents by ICE Agents

Rochester, Minn – Senator Liz Boldon (DFL-Rochester), Representative Andy Smith (DFL-Rochester), Representative Kim Hicks (DFL-Rochester), and Representative Tina Liebling (DFL-Rochester) released the following statement in response to today’s killing of another Minneapolis resident by ICE agents:

“We are once again writing a public statement about the previously unimaginable: another fellow Minnesotan slaughtered in broad daylight by remorseless, masked federal agents.

“This tragic, barbaric shooting must be an ending. The ending of ICE terror not just in Minnesota, but in all of our United States.

“But this tragedy should also be a beginning. The beginning of holding accountable all who gave these agents the perceived power to kill Americans on the street with impunity. The beginning of our GOP colleagues having the moral courage to stand up for Minnesotans, even if that means standing against their own party. The beginning of the United States Congress doing its Constitutional duty to curb an Executive Administration that is carrying out a campaign of terror and civil rights abuses against its own people.

“The future of the United States depends on it.”
