ST. PAUL, Minn. The Minnesota Senate passed Senate File 1236, the omnibus higher education budget bill, on a 46-18 vote late this afternoon. The proposal is expected to be referred to a Senate-House conference committee and would still face a final vote by the legislature before being sent to the Governors desk.
Chief author and Higher Education & Workforce Development Budget Division Chair Terri Bonoff (DFL-Minnetonka) released the following statement:
“This strong bi-partisan vote demonstrates our commitment to each and every Minnesota student. Our bill increases student grants, puts strong cost controls in place, and connects our post-secondary education to the workforce demands of tomorrow.”
