ST. PAUL, MN – Sen. Bobby Joe Champion (DFL-North Minneapolis) is pleased to announce he has hired a new Legislative Assistant, Shemeka Bogan. “I am so excited to have Shemeka on board as my new Legislative Assistant,” Sen. Champion said. “When you call or email me, Shemeka will be your first line of contact and a great representative for our Minnesota State Senate office.”
Shemeka has worked for a number of Twin Cities organizations and has experience in business consulting, event organizing, public relations and project management. Specifically, Shemeka has worked for PULSE Outreach, the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition in North Minneapolis, the Minnesota Orchestra, and Shiloh Temple International Ministries.
Shemeka is also the Founder of The Strong Roots Foundation which is a community organization that puts an emphasis on quality community events for children and families in the urban community. Additionally, she is the Director of Operations for The Man Up Club, which is a community organization that mentors urban youth across the Twin Cities communities.
“I am delighted to have Shemeka join my team,” Sen. Champion said. “Her vast experience and understanding of our communities and constituents will serve the residents of Senate District 59 well.”
Shemeka is the devoted wife of nine years to Brian Bogan II, and mother to three amazing children: Malikai (16-year-old son), Brianna (7-year-old daughter) and Isaiah (5-year-old son). She has been a long-time resident of Senate District 59 area and just recently moved to Otsego, Minnesota.
