Sen. Klein named to Senate Health and Human Services Committee

ST. PAUL, Minn– State Senator Matt Klein, M.D. (DFL-Mendota Heights) was added as a voting member of the Senate Health and Human Services Finance and Policy Committee this week. Sen. Klein says he is pleased to be added to such an important committee and looks forward to building consensus across the aisle to make positive changes for Minnesotans.

“I think it’s absolutely critical for this committee to find areas of agreement and try to work in a nonpartisan fashion to find solutions to the health care issues facing Minnesota. Because I feel so strongly that this is the only way we can reach consensus, I was troubled that Republicans chose to have hearings on two highly contentious abortion-related bills this week. This isn’t the way to build relationships and do right by Minnesotans. I’m hoping we can find areas of common ground in the future,” said Sen. Klein.

Matt Klein represents Senate District 52 which includes the area spanning parts of Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, the city of Mendota, Mendota Heights, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, and West St. Paul.
