The Senate unanimously passed a bill this week allowing dentists to administer coronavirus vaccines for eligible patients over the age of 16. Dentists are already allowed to administer flu vaccines and will now become an important part of our COVID-19 vaccine system. While vaccine supply is still limited, eventually there will be more doses and vaccine options, and the state will need an all-hands-on-deck approach so Minnesotans can be vaccinated as quickly as possible. Dentists will go through the same training and registration process required for other vaccine providers across the state. Every vaccine administered moves us one step closer to ending this pandemic. This bill is another example of our health care providers stepping up to protect the health and safety of Minnesotans. (SF 475)
