Senate #BuildMN Tour Heading to Southeast Corner of Minnesota

ST. PAUL, MINN. – Members of the Minnesota Senate Capital Investment Committee will be conducting the last of five regional bonding tours December 3-5 in Southeastern Minnesota. The #BuildMN tour will hear from more than twenty projects in the region including the cities of Red Wing, Winona, Rochester and Owatonna.

Senator LeRoy Stumpf (DFL-Plummer) chair of the Capital Investment Committee has lead tours throughout the state this fall. The #BuildMN tour will hear presentations from cities and organizations requesting funds through the 2014 bonding bill. State legislators from the region will also be present to help highlight the projects in their districts. The Capital Investment Committee is on its fifth and final regional tour of the state. Day tours of various metro bonding projects will continue this winter leading up to the start of session in February.

“The Committee has heard from more than 100 projects throughout the past four tours and at each stop we have been met by cities and organizations that are incredibly dedicated to projects that will improve not only their own communities, but the entire state. Touring each region of Minnesota during the last two months has been a great privilege and I am looking forward to learning more about the various proposed projects in the Southeast,” Sen. Stumpf said.

Project tour stops include the Red Wing River Renaissance Project, Winona State University, Rushford-Peterson Public Schools, Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, and Youngdahl Living in Owatonna.
