Senate Confirms IRRR and Human Rights Commissioners Thursday

DFL Majority Leader Dziedzic Says Approval of Ida Rukavina, Rebecca Lucero Allows Those Important Agencies to Move Forward Without Disruption

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) said today that the Senate has confirmed both Ida Rukavina as Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Commissioner, and Rebecca Lucero as Department of Human Rights Commissioner.  The approvals will help ensure that both those important agencies can get work done on behalf of Minnesota without disruption.

“Both Commissioner Rukavina and Commissioner Lucero are talented leaders with the skills and experienced to lead their respective agencies,” said Majority Leader Dziedzic.  “We are steadily confirming commissioners because we know that when nominations are held up, it disrupts the important work that Minnesotans expect from their state government. I’m confident that these two talented public servants will continue to serve Minnesota well.”

Majority Leader Dziedzic said the Senate DFL Majority will continue to confirm commissioners to ensure state agencies can continue to work on behalf of Minnesotans without disruption.
