Senate DFL Caucus Releases Joint Statement on Suspected Arson Attack on the Tawhid Islamic Center of Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Early yesterday morning, the Tawhid Islamic Center of Minnesota in St. Paul was the victim of a suspected arson attack, the sixth mosque attack that has occurred in the Twin Cities metro area this year.

In response, the members of the Senate DFL Caucus issued the following joint statement:

“These attacks against our Muslim neighbors are completely unacceptable, and every Minnesotan should join in rejecting those forces of hate and bigotry that perpetuate violence. The right to freely practice one’s faith is a value we all share, and Minnesotans should be free from the worry of violence for practicing their religion. Our houses of worship should be centers of community, joy, and safety, not targets of attack. We are united in supporting Minnesota’s Muslim community, and all of our faith communities in this difficult time.”
