Senate DFL Leader Melisa López Franzen is announcing the hiring of two additions to the caucus’s leadership team. Marc Kimball is joining the caucus as the Director of Media and Communications and Bahea Manasra is joining as the Director of Community Engagement. Both will begin their roles with the Senate DFL Caucus effective January 4.
“I am delighted to announce that Marc Kimball and Bahea Manasra will be joining the Senate DFL Caucus leadership team,” said DFL Leader López Franzen. “We have put together a team that will help prioritize and advance our values throughout the session, and within the community.”
“Marc brings notable public relations and leadership experience, having served for public officials both in Minnesota and on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. He has been an innovator and strategic communicator to further public outreach efforts at national, state, and local levels. He is a dedicated leader who brings his expansive experience in relationship building with members of the public and staff,” said DFL Leader López Franzen.
“Bahea brings crucial civic engagement and leadership experience, having served in various community liaison positions across the nonprofit and public sectors. She is a motivated public servant who brings her diverse background in building community led coalitions between constituents and staff. Bahea will be an integral part of the leadership team to engage Minnesotans, and effectively communicate caucus public policy goals,” said DFL Leader López Franzen.
Kimball currently serves as the Director of Statewide Communications for U.S. Senator Tina Smith, and previously served in the same role for U.S. Senator Al Franken. He has also served in top communications roles for former U.S. Senator Mark Dayton, and for the Minnesota Chapter of the Children’s Defense Fund.
Manasra currently serves as the Deputy Director of Party Affairs for the Minnesota DFL Party. She has also previously served in leadership roles with local municipalities, community cooperatives, and community led nonprofits.
“Kimball and Manasra will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to advancing priorities, growing inclusive spaces, and captivating Minnesotans,” said DFL Leader López Franzen.
