SAINT PAUL, MN— After a letter from Minneapolis Police Federation President Lt. Bob Kroll became public on Monday, Senate DFL Leader Susan Kent is emphasizing the need to focus on long-term solutions instead of creating division.
“More than ever, it is imperative that we come together as Minnesotans and as a community to ensure not a single tragedy, like the one we saw with George Floyd, happens again. The comments in Bob Kroll’s letter were uncalled for and aimed at creating discord at a time when we should be all be working together to keep Minnesotans safe and create community-driven solutions. Furthermore, his account of his conversation with Majority Leader Gazelka is deeply troubling, and Senator Gazelka should respond fully to questions about its accuracy,” said Senate DFL Leader Susan Kent. “Most importantly, the Senate DFL is working with the Governor’s office and Speaker Hortman to push forward a robust, bipartisan plan of public safety reform legislation, as we have been for years. I invite and strongly encourage Senator Gazelka and his entire caucus to join our efforts because we can only move forward together.”
