SAINT PAUL, MN— Today, Governor Walz announced the extension of his executive order directing all Minnesotans to stay at home and limit movements outside their homes. While restaurants and bars will remain closed the order allows additional businesses to safely open. The extension will be in effect until Monday, May 18.
“Minnesota has taken the right approach in slowing the rate of infection of COVID-19 and building up our health care capacity. The Governor’s measured decision to extend the stay at home order and allow more businesses to safely go back to work is the right one,” said Senate DFL Leader Susan Kent. “The sacrifices every Minnesotan has been asked to make are hard, but they are working. I’m grateful for Governor Walz’s continued leadership during the challenging and unprecedented public health emergency we’re currently in.”
