SAINT PAUL, MN— Today, Governor Walz and representatives of Mayo Clinic, and the University of Minnesota launched a statewide testing strategy to test symptomatic people, isolate confirmed cases, and expand public health surveillance tools. The announced increase in testing and tracing will help improve the mitigation of COVID-19 and support the safe re-opening of society.
“This major breakthrough in testing puts us in a better position to protect Minnesotans across the state from the spread of COVID-19,” said Senate DFL Leader Susan Kent. “This is the kind of leadership Minnesotans expect and Governor Walz has once again led efforts to partner with health care experts in the best interest of Minnesotans. I remain as committed as ever to working with the Governor and his administration to ensure the health and safety of our neighbors.”
