Senate DFLers work to end homelessness for veterans

Around 11% of the country’s population of people experiencing homelessness are veterans. Minnesota has been working to end homelessness among veterans, and the Department of Veterans has established a homeless veterans registry to assist in that effort.

Senate DFLers presented a bill in Veterans Committee this week that will further that work by allowing the department to share data with other partners in ending homelessness among veterans. A lack of information is one of the big barriers to ending homelessness among veterans, and the bill will go a long way in ensuring no veteran is left behind.

We are committed to serving those who have served our state and country and ensuring that we are offering veterans the services and assistance they have earned.

The bill will be heard next in the Judiciary Committee.  (SF 4180)
