ST. PAUL, Minn. – Earlier Wednesday, a school shooting in Winder, Georgia resulted in the death of two students and two teachers, and injuries to at least nine other people. In response to the shooting, Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy (DFL-St. Paul) issued the following statement:
“School shootings anywhere are tragic. We owe our students a safe space to learn, and their families peace of mind. This violence must stop. Today’s shooting at a Georgia high school has taken, harmed, and shaken too many lives. It is a lesson that the progress we have made in our state is meaningful, and that we must continue to work to keep our kids, our schools, and our communities safe.”
