SAINT PAUL, Minn.
 – Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) said the Senate has passed Senator Foung Hawj’s (DFL-St. Paul) Legacy budget bill that will restore and protect the state’s natural resources, create statewide outdoor recreation opportunities, and fund diverse and competitive projects in the arts across Minnesota.

Majority Leader Dziedzic said the Legacy budget includes hundreds of millions of dollars that fund clean water, parks and trails, natural areas for the state’s fish, game and wildlife, as well as support for arts and cultural heritage.

“Minnesotans have always understood how important clean water, outdoor recreational activities, our parks and trails, and support for the arts are to our state’s high quality of life,” said Majority Leader Dziedzic.  “This bill will invest hundreds of millions of dollars in these activities — the things that Minnesotans value.  This bill will preserve our natural resources and uplift Minnesotans’ creativity in the arts for current and future generations.”

“The Legacy budget bill invests vital funds into the natural resources that make Minnesota a beautiful and vibrant place to live,” said Senator Hawj. “This budget will ensure that all Minnesotans, from the Northwest Angle to our southern border, can enjoy our wild areas for generations to come. It also puts millions of dollars toward the boundless creativity of Minnesotans, to fund artistic productions so that every community may see itself reflected in our arts, culture, and history.”
