On Monday, the Senate unanimously passed $315 million in federal funds to improve infrastructure (SF 24/HF 26). The bill would appropriate money from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Following the passage of the legislation, Senator Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis), lead author of the bill and Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, released the following statement:
“This essential federal funding was left on the table last year, unable to be accessed to help build and repair our state highways, one of the many agreements that were abandoned by the then majority Republicans. I am happy that the era of gridlock is behind us and have we finally unlocked these IIJA dollars to invest in our statewide infrastructure.”
