Senate unanimously passes Russia divestment bill

The Senate passed a bill this week that removes all state investments from businesses in Russia and their ally Belarus. It also terminates all contracts between the State of Minnesota and Russia and Belarus. The bill passed with no opposition in either the House or the Senate and represents a small step we can take to stand in solidarity with Ukraine and in opposition to the brutal and unprovoked war that Vladimir Putin has launched against it. Minnesota is home a large Ukrainian community, and we’ve heard in deeply personal ways how this conflict has been brought home. (SF 3928)
