Senator Alice Mann Honored as an Advocate for Joy by Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Thursday, August 20, Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota honored Senator Alice Mann (DFL-Edina) as an Advocate for Joy, during their 2026 Celebration of Joy event. A practicing Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine physician, Senator Mann has devoted much of her legislative work towards improving patient outcomes and making life easier and healthier for working class families.

In their recognition of Senator Mann, Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota – an organization dedicated to addressing the specific needs of Minnesota’s families, children and youth – noted Senator Mann’s focus on “bring[ing] down the cost and increas[ing] accessibility of healthcare, working to make sure children have access to nutrition and education, making sure women have access to medical standards of care, and fighting for social justice.”

“I am honored to be recognized as an Advocate for Joy by the Children’s Defense Fund,” said Senator Mann. “The Children’s Defense Fund has been a strong partner in our work to make the state a better place for families and children – including paid family and medical leave,  universal school meals, and ensuring all Minnesotans have access to the health care they need. It’s critical that we continue to advocate for every single working family and their basic needs to help everyone in our state thrive.”
