Senator Ann Johnson Stewart responds to Minnesota’s February economic forecast

Minnesota’s February Budget and Economic Forecast was released today and projected a positive balance of $1.6 billion. The forecast reflects higher revenues than previously projected, including a positive balance in the current fiscal year. In response to the February forecast, Senator Ann Johnson Stewart (DFL-Wayzata) released the following statement:

“The forecast released today is great news for Minnesotans, especially after the challenges of the past four years. It shows that Minnesota is in a position to meet the ongoing challenges we face – providing high-quality public schools for all students, combating climate change, and lowering the cost of health care,” said Senator Ann Johnson Stewart. “It is time we modernize and make bold investments in our infrastructure from roads, bridges, and transit to desperately needed water and wastewater improvements. Out of sight and out of mind won’t work forever – and our state has lagged behind in investing in public infrastructure that creates jobs and allows our economy to move us forward.”

Ann Johnson Stewart represents Senate District 44, which covers the communities of Plymouth, Minnetonka, and Woodland.
