Saint Paul, Minn. – Earlier last week, Sen. Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) was treated at Mayo Clinic in Rochester to repair a leaking heart valve. The planned repair was successful, and his doctors anticipate a full recovery. His recovery is going as planned and he has returned home on Lake Vermilion.
“I’ve known for some time now that this procedure was likely going to be needed. There was the possibility that one of my heart valves would need to be replaced, but in the end, this wasn’t the case and less extensive repairs were needed,” said Senator Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook). “I look forward to being back at full-strength soon, fighting for the interests of the people of northeastern Minnesota,” he added.
Senator Tom Bakk represents Senate District 3, which includes Koochiching, Cook, and Lake counties and a portion of St. Louis County.
