Senator Bigham statement on end of 2021 Legislative Session

The 2021 Legislative Session came to a close Monday without passage of the state budget. Despite the lack of final passage, legislative leaders have agreed to budget targets, and final passage of the budget will occur in a forthcoming special session.

In response, Senator Karla Bigham (DFL-Cottage Grove) released the following statement:

“I am disappointed that once again we were unable to complete our work by the time of our constitutionally mandated adjournment. Even with the challenges of a COVID session, Minnesotans expect us to do the job they elected us for. Thankfully, with budget targets now agreed upon we will continue to work in the conference committee process and pass our final budget. I look forward to working on the judiciary and transportation conference committees, and ensuring that our final budget delivers for Minnesotans.”
