Senator Dziedzic on the end of the 2021 legislative session

The 2021 legislative session came to a close today with work left to do and a special session on the horizon.

Following adjournment, Senator Kari Dziedzic (DFL-Minneapolis) released this statement:

“Minnesotans want to see the Legislature put in the work necessary to pass a budget, to pass meaningful legislation that will make our state better, and transition smoothly out of a global pandemic. We have instead adjourned this legislative session with more work still left to do.

“It is extremely frustrating that we could not come to an agreement on the eviction moratorium off-ramp legislation. We have the federal funds for COVID-19 relief available that will help keep tenants in their homes and help landlords as well recover from the pandemic. Passing a robust Housing Omnibus Bill in the special session is a priority to address the housing and homelessness crisis.”
