Senator Erin Maye Quade Celebrates Investment in Apple Valley Drinking Water Improvements

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Sunday, May 17, the Senate passed a comprehensive, bipartisan $1.2 billion bonding package (HF 719 passed 60-7 and HF 2484 passed 52-15). The two bills invest in Minnesota’s shared state assets like public colleges and universities, water and sewer systems, roads and highways, and more. It includes a $9.1 million investment in Apple Valley’s water treatment plant, chief authored by Senator Erin Maye Quade (DFL-St. Paul).

“I am delighted that the 2026 bonding bill will help provide clean water for Apple Valley residents,” said Senator Maye Quade. “While the city already provides exceptional drinking water, the planned improvements will add membrane technology to mitigate any PFAS contamination and increase the city’s water treatment capacity by 10%. Clean, safe drinking water is a basic service that our cities and state should provide. I am proud to have been an advocate for this funding and look forward to seeing the project break ground.”
