Senator Erin Murphy Response to the November Forecast
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – On Wednesday, Minnesota Management and Budget released the November economic forecast. The report announced a $2.4 billion surplus for the current biennium, and a $2.3 billion structural imbalance in the 2026-27 biennium.
Senator Erin Murphy (DFL-St. Paul) released the following statement:
“Our budget is more than numbers, it’s about people and our priorities. Today’s forecast is a lens into the continued work to meet the needs of Minnesotans and strengthen our communities. The forecast underscores that the work we did this year to improve the lives of Minnesotans is paying off. And still, there is more work ahead on child care, housing, equity, higher education, and addressing climate change.
We’ve been bold. It’s what this moment calls for. That boldness has put us on a strong and sound path to deliver for people across the state. I am committed to a Minnesota where people choose to live, work, and raise their families. We’re on our way, with joyful fight for our bright future.”
