SAINT PAUL, Minn. – By a vote of 34-33 early Saturday morning, the Minnesota Senate passed the PRO (Protect Reproductive Options) Act (HF 1/SF 1), codifying the right of Minnesotans to make autonomous decisions over their own bodies when it comes to reproductive healthcare.
Following the passage of the legislation, Senator Erin Murhpy (DFL-St. Paul) issued the following statement:
“With their votes, Minnesotans elected a prochoice majority to protect the fundamental freedom to make their own health care decisions. For 15 hours, Senate DFLers held together to pass the PRO Act, to enshrine reproductive freedom. Ensuring this right protects health, saves lives, and supports our lives and our families. We made a promise to Minnesotans and last night was an important first step in fulfilling our commitment.”
