The Minnesota Senate adjourned on Monday evening without passing a budget. In response, Senator Omar Fateh (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement:
“The Senate adjourned without taking action on some of the most important issues impacting Minnesotans and particularly communities of color. The Senate Republican majority methodically blocked, ignored, and failed to hold hearings on police accountability, law enforcement reform, and criminal justice reform throughout the entire duration of this legislative session.”
“Minnesotans are demanding that we address the racial, economic, and social inequities which plague our state and which were exposed so clearly over the past two years during the coronavirus pandemic.”
“We have unfinished business and I will continue to fight for working people at the Senate.”
