Senator Franzen supports the opening of golf and other outdoor activities announced by Governor Walz

Governor Walz issued more executive orders – this time to open up certain outdoor activities and businesses that can do so while still adhering to the CDC and MDH guidelines. The orders will allow the following to open back up: state parks and recreational areas, water access points, marinas and docks, golf courses, off-highway vehicle trails, lake service providers, bait shops, shooting ranges, and game farms.

“The sensible approach to re-opening ‘low-risk’ businesses like golf courses and bait shops, provide a greater sense of security to those in our business community currently facing uncertainty,” said Senator Melisa Franzen, DFL-Edina. “I thank the governor for opening up the outdoor activities that Minnesotans can enjoy safely. We must protect public health, and we must also provide economic stimulus to the state. I look forward to working with the Governor and his Commissioners to adopt measures for other businesses and industry leaders to re-open for business safely and with strong accountability measures.”

These new provisions will go into effect on Saturday, April 18 at 5:00 a.m.. Details on Executive Order 20-38 can be found here.
