Senator Grant Hauschild Statement on State Budget Forecast

HERMANTOWN, Minn. — On Thursday, December 4, Minnesota Management and Budget released the December forecast for the Minnesota budget and economy.  Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL – Hermantown) released the following statement:

“Today’s forecast is important as it shows Minnesota has a strong $2.5 billion budget surplus, highlighting that steady fiscal responsibility has paid off. At the same time, we need to stay vigilant with future budget projections in part due to Congress’ Big Beautiful Bill. This could put real pressure on our state budget in the years ahead. That is why it is more important than ever that we remain diligent so we can protect this stability for the long-term and keep Minnesota on strong footing.”
