Senator Hayden applauds creation of Office of Career and Business Opportunity

Saint Paul, Minn. — Following a recent census report that found persistent and worsening economic disparity for Minnesota’s communities of color, Governor Dayton has announced the creation of the Office of Career and Business Opportunity to help workers and businesses of color find career paths and business opportunities in Minnesota.

Deputy Majority Leader Senator Jeff Hayden (DFL-Minneapolis) released the following statement:

“I’m proud of Governor Dayton for taking these first steps in addressing the economic disparities that face Minnesota’s communities of color. The tools and resources available with the creation of this new office will provide increased support for minority workers and business owners, while helping to improve economic opportunities and outcomes. While this is a step forward, I will continue to work with the Governor and my colleagues in the legislature to focus on efforts to reduce this economic disparity for our communities.”
