Senator John Marty (DFL-Roseville) announced today that he is speaking at a national conference about single-payer health care. The conference, organized by Healthcare-NOW, is taking place in downtown Minneapolis this weekend.
During the gathering, Sen. Marty will speak Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the One Payer States Session on “Creative Strategies for Winning Single Payer State Campaigns.” During this session, he will reflect on and provide insight from his work to pass the Minnesota Health Plan. Congressman Keith Ellison of Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District, who is the chief author of single-payer legislation at the federal level, is listed as the conference’s keynote speaker.
