SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Senate passed two capital investment bills Sunday that will fund in total over $2.3 billion worth of projects statewide Sunday, including over $93 million worth of projects secured by Senator Judy Seeberger (DFL-Afton) to help Senate District 41.
“Capital investment is critical for addressing essential and critical infrastructure upgrades and repairs that our local communities need,” said Sen. Seeberger, who voted yes for both bills. “These bills are a fitting end to investing in our assets, creating good-paying jobs for thousands of Minnesotans, and supporting our local economy.”
Senator Seeberger secured three projects in the final capital investment bills: $20 million for Washington Country for the Interchange at Trunk Highway 36 and Lake Elmo Avenue (includes $5 million included in the Transportation bill); $150,000 for the Saint Croix Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, located in the Lake Elmo Airport; and $77.765 million for upgrades at the Hastings Veterans Home Campus.
“Working together with my local elected officials, I have been fighting to get these projects across the finish line, and I’m proud to say that today we got it done,” said Sen. Seeberger. “I’m proud to have voted yes for these bills and look forward to them moving forward.”
The full list of projects that are funded by the capital investment bills, which include funding for water infrastructure, trunk highways, colleges and universities, and other public assets are available here and here.
