Senator Kent Eken named to Higher Education Conference Committee

St .Paul, MN – Now that the Senate and House have both passed their higher education omnibus bills, the respective legislative bodies will work to negotiate a final bill for passage in both. The Senate has named its members of their higher education conference committee, and it will include State Senator Kent Eken (DFL-Twin Valley).

As a member of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee, Sen. Eken promised to work hard to ensure a final bill would prioritize students.

“One of our most important roles as legislators is to ensure that higher education in Minnesota is affordable, accessible, and of the highest quality that ensures our students develop to their fullest potential. I’m looking forward to working with my Senate and House colleagues to find compromise that we can all agree on while prioritizing our students without sacrificing quality,” said Sen. Eken.
