Senate DFL Leader Susan Kent released the following statement on the passing of former Vice President Walter Mondale:
“Vice President Mondale was a beloved and deeply admired statesman who treated everyone he met with the utmost courtesy and respect. The work he did over the years was always with an eye on making the world a better place than he found it. He was a trailblazer for his time – fighting for civil rights, naming the first woman Vice Presidential candidate, and leading on public policy in environmental protections and social programs that will live on for years to come. Vice President Mondale was a gift to his beloved Minnesota and to our country, and his gentle soul will be missed by many.”
