Senator Lindsey Port named Legislator of Distinction by League of Minnesota Cities

In honor of her work in the 2022 legislative session, Senator Linsey Port (DFL-Burnsville) has been recognized as a Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities. The honor recognizes legislators for specific city-friendly actions during the 2022 legislative session.

“The work we do at the legislature is essential to ensuring that our cities are strong, through support for things like affordable housing, improvements to our infrastructure, or providing additional state funding for those services our cities provide,” said Senator Port. “It is an honor to be named a Legislator of Distinction, and I value the strong partnerships with all the cities I represent and look forward to continuing to craft policies that support the families that call Burnsville, Lakeville, and Savage home.”

Senator Port represents parts or all of three cities found in Senate District 56: Burnsville, Lakeville, and Savage.

Legislators of Distinction are annually approved by the League’s Board of Directors to recognize that in order to successfully serve commonly shared constituents, state and city officials must work together to meet the unique needs of rural, suburban, and urban residents all across Minnesota.
