ST. PAUL, Minn. — Senator Liz Boldon (DFL – Rochester) announced that six nursing homes in Rochester will receive a second round of direct payments totaling $1.67 million to help stabilize finances, ensure adequate staffing and pay, repair infrastructure, and provide quality services for their residents. The funds, which bring payment totals in Senate District 25 to $3.3 million over the biennium, are part of a $300 million statewide nursing home package passed by DFL majorities in 2023 and signed into law by Governor Walz.
Senator Boldon said the funding will help Minnesota nursing facilities facing financial hardship.
“As Minnesotans, we want the best for our parents, grandparents and neighbors that are living out their golden years,” said Senator Boldon. “That’s why this funding is so crucial for the stability of these homes. It will ensure that facilities can keep their doors open, compensate the hardworking care providers, repair facility infrastructure, maintain adequate staffing levels, and continue to provide the best care possible for our seniors. Ensuring quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare has always been, and will continue to be a top priority of mine at the Legislature.”
The six nursing homes in Senator Boldon’s district benefitting from the funding are as follows:
