Senator Liz Boldon Applauds Minnesota Senate’s Passage of a Ban on Conversion “Therapy,” Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, and Trans Refuge Bill

SAINT PAUL, Minn.  — Today, the Senate passed three bills ensuring the rights and safety of Minnesotans are protected, by banning the practice of conversion “therapy” for children and vulnerable adults, protecting patients and providers who seek or provide reproductive health care with the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, and protecting gender-affirming health care for those who need it with passage of the Trans Refuge bill.

Following the passage of these bills, Senator Liz Boldon (DFL-Rochester) released the following statement:

“Today is a great day for our state. At the same time that many states around the country are putting restrictions on reproductive freedom and ostracizing our LGBTQ family members, friends and neighbors, Minnesota is establishing itself as a safe haven for those same people. These bills are essential to ensuring people are free to get the care they need to live their full lives with dignity and love. I am incredibly proud of our state and its commitment to being an accepting place for all Americans and rejecting hatred and bigotry.”
