ST. PAUL, Minn. — On Wednesday, March 19, Senator Justin Eichorn was charged in federal court for soliciting a minor for sex.
Senator Liz Boldon (DFL-Rochester) released the following statement in response:
“I am deeply appalled and disgusted by the allegations that Justin Eichorn attempted to commit a sex crime to violate a child. This behavior is morally beyond the pale, and warrants immediate resignation from public office. While I am grateful a child was not involved in this arrest, I sincerely hope there have been no other victims, and my colleagues and I are committed to ensuring that the Capitol and our state are safe places for all people.”
“It is not lost on me that we have a President in the White House who has openly bragged about sexually assaulting women, and was found liable for rape in a civil court. We have also seen this President elevate sexual predators to the Supreme Court and his Cabinet. This reprehensible behavior both sets an example and gives permission for others to engage in this type of abusive behavior and criminal acts. Additionally, it sends a message to survivors that their suffering is not deserving of consequences. None of this is acceptable nor should be tolerated. Justin Eichorn should resign immediately and face justice in court.”
