SAINT PAUL, Minn. – By a vote of 34-33 early Saturday morning, the Minnesota Senate passed the PRO (Protect Reproductive Options) Act (HF 1/SF 1), codifying the right of Minnesotans to make autonomous decisions over their own bodies when it comes to reproductive healthcare.
Following the passage of the legislation, Senator Mary Kunesh (DFL-New Brighton) issued the following statement:
“We heard time and again from Minnesotans that they want their fundamental rights protected, not restricted. By passing the PRO Act, we are simply saying that Minnesotans have the right to make their own decisions when it comes to reproductive healthcare. Today is an important step, but we have more to do to advance reproductive freedom and to pass policies that support children and families and the health of Minnesotans.”
