ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Tuesday, it was announced that Eric Dick had passed away. He had served as the manager of legislative affairs with the Minnesota Medical Association for several years and was a fixture at the Capitol on health care issues and advocacy.
Senator Matt Klein (DFL-Mendota Heights) released this statement following the announcement of Eric’s death:
“My condolences and deep sympathies go out to Eric’s family, and I join with them and my many colleagues who had the pleasure of working with Eric in mourning his passing.
Eric Dick was a model of advocacy with integrity at the state capitol. He was good at what he did because he believed in the power of good government to ensure ethical and accessible health care for all. He was unfailingly kind, hopeful, informed, and professional; it was a pleasure to see him in the hallways or the offices every time. The physicians of the MMA were well represented, but more importantly, so were their patients.
Eric was a friend in the highest sense: as Cicero defines friendship, he made me a better person by his example and his life. He will be deeply missed.”
