SAINT PAUL, Minn. – By a vote of 34-33, the Minnesota Senate passed the PRO Act (HF 1/SF 1) Saturday morning, codifying the right of Minnesotans to make autonomous decisions over their own bodies when it comes to reproductive healthcare.
Following the passage of the legislation, Senator Melissa Wiklund (DFL-Bloomington) issued the following statement:
“Minnesotans made it clear that they want their fundamental rights protected, not restricted. By passing the PRO Act, we are simply saying that Minnesotans have the right to make decisions over their own bodies when it comes to reproductive healthcare. Today is an important step, but we have more to do to advance and pass policies that support children and families and the health of Minnesotans.”
