Senator Murphy on the end of the 2021 legislative session

The 2021 legislative session came to a close today with work still left to do and a special session on the horizon.

Following adjournment, Senator Erin Murphy (DFL-Saint Paul) released this statement:

“It is deeply disappointing to close this session with such minimal progress. After months of work this session, the budget targets, delivered today, are ambiguous. Without clarity, I am not confident they will meet the needs of Minnesotans.

“Minnesotans elected us to work for them, to improve their lives. After a difficult year defined by a global pandemic and civil unrest, the Senate has squandered its time. The needs across the state are tremendous, and it is on elected leaders, to rise to the challenge and to build a bright future for us all.”
