Senator Ron Latz Statement on Minnesota’s Lawsuit Against Federal Government for Evidence in Good, Pretti Killings

ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Tuesday it was announced that the state of Minnesota is suing the Trump administration for withholding evidence from the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti and the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis.

In response Senator Ron Latz (DFL-St. Louis Park), who is chief author of legislation requiring the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigate incidents involving federal agents, releases the following statement:

“Today’s announcement is another step forward in accountability and justice for the families of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, and Julio Sosa-Celis. The lack of cooperation from the federal government in these cases is unprecedented, and upends years of partnership between state and federal partners. Minnesotans want and deserve answers, and we will not stop in our pursuit of those answers.”
