Silver Alert Bill Passes State and Local, Has Second Reading

The Silver Alert System bill calls upon the Commissioner of Public Safety to establish a working group to study the need for a Silver Alert system to aid in the recovery of missing persons who are senior citizens with dementia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, or other mental disabilities. If the group finds that a system is needed they are directed to make recommendations to the Legislature.

The legislation passed State and Local Government Committee as amended and had its second reading. (S.F. 857)
