Statement on the passing of Connie Perpich

St. Paul, Minn.—Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) had released the following statement regarding the passing of Connie Perpich.

“I met Connie and George Perpich in the late 1980s while I was working as a Union Organizer. Our work eventually brought us to St. Paul. Anyone who met Connie knew she had the big heart of an Iron Ranger. She knew how to make you feel heard and understood. Connie was the greatest advocate for women’s access to reproductive healthcare, I have ever known. I learned a great deal from her, her ethic, and her passion to provide women and families access to critical healthcare. Connie’s skillful, thoughtful, and passionate approach is one I still admire. She was a dear friend and I will miss her dearly,” Bakk said.
