PAUL, Minn. — On Thursday, the Senate Education Finance Committee passed its education finance omnibus bill (SF 2684), securing $2.2 billion in funding for Minnesota schools to continue their work educating and empowering students in every ZIP code. PAUL, Minn. — On Tuesday, Governor Tim Walz, Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic, and House Speaker Melissa Hortman announced an agreement on key budget decisions, including historic investments in children and families. The target budget includes $2.2 billion for K-12 education as well as an additional $300 million for early education.

The bill is a combination of the Minnesota Department of Education’s proposed policy changes along with several provisions heard as standalone bills in the Education Policy Committee before being added to the omnibus bill.
